It’s easy to get involved and make a difference. At the treehouse we welcome and highly value our community’s contributions to our work with families and children.
As a tiny, local, community organisation the partnerships we build with our community really do enable us to keep providing our services to families in need.
Thank you for caring Queanbeyan – together we support our kids
Our partnerships bring us together for our kids, our families, our community and our city. Through our shared commitment we have fun and feel connected and proud.
You can help children living with disability or development delay and their families reach their goals and enjoy a full and happy community life.

Jerrabomberra Rotary Club Fun Run
Last year was the inaugural ‘Jerra Fun Run’ and it is planned to be an annual event promoting fitness, community participation and generosity to those in need.
Suitable for all ages and fitness levels this is a great way to get involved and get fit. This year you will get to compete against our CEO – a sure win. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra for this great community initiative.
Charity Golf Day
This annual event is our major fundraiser. Held in late spring, it is a must for your annual workplace calendar. For only $500 your businesses can put in a team of four players and enjoy a great boys (and girls) day out at the Queanbeyan Golf Club.
This event promotes team building, local business networking and corporate sponsorship. With golf, mates, prizes, plenty to eat and drink, and a bit of healthy competition, this is a real treat for your team that also helps kids in need.
Charity Book Fair
Keep an eye out for Moira and Neville who regularly take over the Charity Stall at the Fyshwick Markets with their much loved second hand book stall. This is a favourite for many readers who have come to use the stall more like a library – returning regularly to get more books and recycle the ones they have finished reading. Thank you Moira and Neville your generosity makes an amazing difference to our kids and families and to the readers of Canberra and Queanbeyan.
Become a volunteer
There is always something to do around the Treehouse and your skills and interest are always welcome. Volunteers are involved at all levels of the organisation from garden work to being a member of our highly skilled Management Committee.
It is a wonderful thing to have friends that share their time and expertise with us. Our volunteers all have a current NSW Working With Children check and National Police Check.
Above is our volunteer Sharon who is currently studying her Certificate III in childcare.
International Day of People with Disability – 3 December each year.
Celebrating with family and friends is one of life’s greatest delights. International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being.
Every year in Queanbeyan our community gets together to create a community event in celebration. Come and join us.
Sponsor a Child
Help us help children who don’t get funding. Some children living with disability or developmental delay are not eligible for government funded services. There are many reasons why this may happen such as visa status, time it takes to receive a diagnosis or the type of developmental delay the child has.
Direct financial sponsorship of a child enables their family to access therapy services, education programs and purchase much needed equipment and resources. Families gain great emotional support and encouragement just knowing that their sponsor, whom they will never meet, cares enough to invest in their child’s future.
Fundraise for us
Have you got a great fundraising idea or are you part of a community group having an event or looking for a special project? Fundraising for us makes a genuine difference to the life of a child living with disability in our community and also connects your work to our genuine local community organisation.
Last year our friends in the community raised much needed funds through sausage sizzles; selling beautiful homemade candles; decorating their home with Christmas lights; having a roaring twenties cocktail party; donating the proceeds from community events including country music nights, the Queanbeyan Rodeo and the Canberra Hot Rod Association’s annual show. Wow, what a community – we love you.
Become a corporate partner
